BONES

it’s the bones of our community. It’s the local farmers who quietly carry so much of this areas work and productivity - while most of what they work so hard for bypasses our local community altogether and ends up on the supermarket shelves in the city. It’s local organic produce. It’s eggs. It’s meat. It’s veg and it’s milk. It’s the bones of our diet as human beings. It’s the good stuff that goes to the wealthier parts of the cities and we’re left with the crumbs. We’re takin some of it back.

It’s such a special thing - owning your own garden and knowing exactly where your food came from and what you’re putting into you and your families bodies. Living in ‘the country’ some of us genuinely get the privilege to do that. But there’s always an influx - There’s always that one thing we grew too much of and have to pass onto the neighbour who isn’t so handy in the garden. This is the premise of BONES.

Yup we throw a mad brew, and toast a bloody good sando - but our menu is designed based on what we sell on our shelves and what we as a local community we can harvest. Local always - organic where we can. Our meat is locally sourced and or bread is even handmade by a 16 year old entrepreneur just trying to make a buck for a new surfboard.

It’s a massive step for us as a community and we are so damn proud of what we’ve done.

Come have a sticky and grab yourself a brew, and while your there stock up on some local and organic meat n veg. Wednesday to Sunday 8am - 3pm, and fridays from 5pm. You’re actually supporting the local farmers and entrepreneurs trying so hard to make change.
